Catalogue & Online Bidding

Highlights of the Sale

Great Britain

Great Britain is represented from Queen Victoria through to modern Elizabeth II, with a mixture of early and later material, including line‑engraved and surface‑printed issues, Victorian and Edwardian ranges, and K.G.V. and K.G.VI Definitives and Commemoratives.

The Queen Elizabeth II section includes both pre‑decimal and decimal issues, together with useful modern holdings, including booklets, presentation packs and mint decimal material, with significant face value in places. Postal history, collections and general accumulations are also well represented.

British Commonwealth

British Commonwealth material is mainly offered as country collections, selections and working holdings, covering a wide geographical spread. Material ranges from the K.G.V. and K.G.VI period through to early and mid‑Q.E.II, with representation from Africa, the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific.

Much of this section will appeal to collectors and dealers seeking broad coverage, study material or resale stock, rather than individual high‑profile rarities.

Foreign Countries

Foreign material ranges from classic through to modern issues and is presented largely in collection format. The sale includes single‑country collections, European material with good representation of France, Germany and Italy, and mixed foreign holdings from a wide range of countries. The emphasis throughout is on usability and scope for further development.

Collections, Accumulations & Box Lots

As expected in a General Sale, there is a substantial run of collections, mixed lots and estate material, including worldwide collections in albums and stockbooks, mixed boxes and large accumulations for sorting, and estate material offered largely as received.

Postal History, Autographs & Other Sections

In addition to stamps, the sale includes postal history from Great Britain, the Commonwealth and overseas, airmail and Zeppelin material, and a small section of autograph items, including R.M.S. Titanic–related covers. There are also cigarette cards, postcards, thematic collections and philatelic literature.

Viewing is available by appointment two weeks prior to the sale in Northamptonshire and from 9.00am on the day of sale at Sunbury Cricket Club. A selection of lots may also be available at stamp exhibitions leading up to the auction — please check our website for details.
