AN EXPLANATION OF ONLINE BIDDING IN A LIVE AUCTION
In a Live Auction we will normally allow you to submit Absentee bids prior to the auction going Live. Just like a maximum bid in a timed auction, an absentee bid, is strictly confidential and can only be viewed by you. A maximum bid allows you to place a bid for the maximum level that you are willing to bid and the auctioneer will then bid on your behalf up to your maximum amount. Your bid will always be at the lowest possible level subject to the reserve price and any other bids placed on the lot. If no other bids are placed on a lot then your bid will be no more than the reserve price for that lot. If other bids are placed on the lot your bid will only be one increment higher than the highest other bid, up to your maximum. If there are two or more equal bids submitted on a lot then the bid submitted first will take precedence. Conflicting bids received online and in the room will be decided at the discretion of the auctioneer. Deleting or reducing registered absentee bids is at the discretion of the auctioneer so please contact them directly. You may increase your maximum bid at any time without any possibility of bidding against yourself.
Once bidding on a lot in the auction has gone Live it will no longer be submit an absentee bid. Any subsequent bids on a Live lot are placed via the Bid possible to Now button at the indicated increment
Note – you can also place absentee bids via our online form View Here >

- Email on Reserve – alerts you if the bid you have placed is below the reserve
